A Message from Lake Bonavista Community Association

For over 55 years, the LBCA has been a vital part of our community’s recreational life. A place where generations have learned to skate, played their first games, cheered on their teams, and created memories that last a lifetime.

As a “vintage” facility, we are aware of the challenges that come with an aging infrastructure, specifically, of our two ice slabs and ice plant that operate our arenas. Maintaining the safe, high-quality ice experience requires significant investment.

The LBCA is proactively working in partnership with the City of Calgary to develop a renewal plan for this major capital project. Together, we’re exploring long-term solutions that will ensure LBCA remains a vibrant hub in Calgary for decades to come.

When the time comes to execute this important work, there will naturally be some impact on ice programming, and we are committed to keeping you informed as plans unfold.
