Art Class

Art is about having fun! It’s not about being perfect, it’s about expressing yourself and being creative. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or you can only draw a stick figure, art is for everyone. Come and learn different techniques and work on a variety of projects.
All equipment will be supplied and projects will be taken home. Please wear old clothes as thigs can get messy at times with art!

Babysitting

This course will give students the tools and knowledge of life-saving skills and prepare them for emergency situations, while achieving a babysitting certificate.
The Red Cross Babysitters course covers the responsibilities of a babysitter, safety tips for children of all ages, feeding and diapering babies, basic childcare skills, and what to do in case of an emergency. Basic first aid is also covered, choking, cuts, burns, etc. Each student will receive a Red Cross babysitter’s manual, babysitter’s first aid kit, and a Red Cross Babysitter’s completion card. This course is intended for 12-16 yr olds.
Please bring a pen, notebook, water bottle and peanut free lunch.
Tyke Basketball: Ages 6 – 8 years

A grassroots basketball program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play.

Junior Basketball League: Ages 9 – 11 Years
April 6 – June 12, 2026
Mondays 6:30-7:30pm, Fridays 5:00-6:30pm

A grassroots basketball league program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play. The Junior program will have 36 kids per age group which will allow for 4 teams in each group. They will build upon their fundamentals of basketball and learn offensive and defensive strategies and skills that will be used during the league games.
- Monday night practice sessions from 6:30-7:30pm in the Main Gym at Robert Warren from Apr 6th – June 8th No session May 18th
- Friday Game nights from 5-6:30pm at the LBCA gym from Apr 10th – June 12th. Junior teams will have a half hour session with their coaches each Friday and then games will run 5:30-6:30pm, a game schedule will be sent out once teams are formed – please note that the first Friday Apr 10th will be an additional practice and games will begin the following week No session May 15th

Senior Basketball League: Ages 12 – 15 Years

Drawing with Young Rembrandts

It’s spring time and that can only mean one thing: Spring time drawing with Young Rembrandts!
If your children are baseball fans, they will love our baseball still life session. Learning about warm colors and cool colors will be the focus as our artists draw a detailed exterior of a house. Outdoor Soccer
The LBCA is excited to announce that our Grassroots Outdoor Soccer Program is back this spring! We have partnered again this year with Daniel Balcorta from IFA7 and the Canada Soccer Federation.
Girls and boys will play together in this program which will utilize “FUNdamentals” curriculum with a focus on learning the game through age appropriate activities and games.
Please register your child in the appropriate age category according to their birth year. Movement requests can be sent to the Program Supervisor Cara Madan. Duplicate accounts created in order to modify a child’s birthdate will be deleted and your placement in a program may be at risk of being removed.
Stay Safe

Empower your child with essential life skills with the Stay Safe course for youth ages 9-13! This course provides children with the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe when they are away from their parents or guardians, both at home and in their communities.
Our expert instructors will teach your child how to set and follow safety rules, prepare and respond to unexpected situations such as inclement weather, strangers, and unanticipated visits. Basic first aid skills will also be covered, so your child will be ready to respond in case of an emergency. Let your little engineer’s creativity run wild! In this hands-on beginner camp, kids use Makey Makey to turn everyday objects into exciting, interactive inventions.
Campers explore basic circuits and simple coding while creating fun projects like interactive art, computer games, and musical instruments. Through play and experimentation, they build foundational skills in science, engineering and programming.
Perfect for curious kids who love to build, tinker, and discover how technology works!

Why just play games when you can create your own!
In this fun hands-on camp, kids become game designers using MakeCode Arcade to build their own retro-style video games. They’ll design characters, create levels, add sound effects, and code exciting gameplay features.
Best of all, campers get to play their games on the handheld Kittenbot Meowbit device and share them with friends.
Perfect for young gamers who want to turn their love of video games into creativity, coding skills, and big imagination!
Motion Commotion: Stop Motion Animation Camp – Afternoon
Step into the imaginative world of Motion Commotion, where storytelling, creativity, and engineering come together through stop motion animation. Campers bring characters and scenes to life using fun techniques like claymation, sand animation, masking effects, and sound design.
Using hands-on materials such as clay, paper, and props – along with digital tools like Stop Motion Studio – students plan, build, and animate their own mini movies. Along the way, they develop skills in creative storytelling, design thinking, problem solving, and basic animation technology.
By the end of camp, each student will have a collection of animated creations that showcase their imagination and technical skills on screen!
Camp runs from Aug 10th – 14th, for 5 sessions, from 9am-4pm, for kids ages 8-14yrs. Please ensure each child brings a water bottle, peanut free snacks and lunch.

Soccer Camp – Half Day 6-12yrs

We are excited to partner with our Soccer Coordinator, Daniel Balcorta, from Canada Soccer Federation and IFA7, to bring you soccer summer camps!
This soccer program will allow young boys and girls who are looking to improve their skills regardless of their level in a dynamic and diverse week long camp. From players starting the sport to high performance players, the CSF/IFA7 Development Summer Camps will bring out the best in each player and help cement their positions requirements as well as understanding all the roles on the pitch. We put a spotlight on the value of all for one which pushes players to grow as players, to improve as a team and create a strong teamwork ethic.
It will run from July 27th – July 31st from 9:00am – 12:00pm here at the LBCA. Some of the session will take place in the gym and there will also be time spent each day on the field outside. This program is suitable for all skill levels aged 6-12yrs and each participant will receive a shirt to keep. Please ensure you bring running shoes, a water bottle and a peanut free snack.
Young Rembrandts – Animal Cartoons 6-12yrs

Laugh-out-loud funny! Mind-bending-adorable! Awesome-beyond-belief! These are just some of the words that best describe our Cartoon animals summer camp. If your child is a fan of cuddly animals and funny cartoons, this drawing workshop is especially tailored for them. Over the course of five days, our students will learn how to draw animals of all shapes, sizes, and colors. They will learn how to personify ordinary animals, transforming them into fully realized cartoon characters. Be apart of something fun and special. Enroll your budding artist today!

Young Rembrandts – Under The Sea 5-7yrs

This workshop gives the students a chance to draw all the different things we see and imagine under the sea! Narwhals, jellyfish, mermaids and more will fill our pages in bold colors and strong shapes. We will complete our last day with one large scene including all the animals we drew that week in a clever and cute imaginary zoo.
