Art Class with Young Rembrandts

April 10 – June 12, 2024
Wednesdays, 5:30 – 6:30 pm | 10 Sessions | Ages 6 – 12 years

It’s spring time and that can only mean one thing: Springtime fun with Young Rembrandts!

If your child enjoys the outdoors they will love the upcoming hummingbird lesson filled with color and whimsy. We’ll be drawing all season creating motorcycles, boats and even the butterfly life cycle! Artists will be challenged as they draw and shade a realistic portrait of famous composer Beethoven using color pencils. Sign up today!


Tyke Basketball: Ages 6 – 8 years

A grassroots basketball program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play.

No class May 17th.

Please bring indoor shoes and a water bottle.

Junior Basketball League: Ages 9 – 11 Years

A grassroots basketball league program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play. The Junior program will have 32 kids per age group which will allow for 4 teams in each group. They will build upon their fundamentals of basketball and learn offensive and defensive strategies and skills that will be used during the league games.

  • Monday night practice sessions from 6:30-7:30pm in the Main Gym at Robert Warren School from April 8th – June 17th No class May 20th
  • Friday Game nights from 5-7pm at the LBCA gym from April 5th – June 21st. Junior teams will either play from 5:00-6:00pm, or 6:00-7:00pm a schedule will be sent out once teams are formed – please note that the first Friday April 5th will be an additional practice and games will begin the following Friday, No class May 17th

Please bring indoor shoes and a water bottle.

Senior Basketball League: Ages 12 – 14 Years

This Spring we are bringing the veterinarian world to your kids!

Students will learn about the exciting field of veterinary medicine and become a veterinarian physician and surgeon. This 6-week program will discuss dog health. Kids will get to perform dog assessments making a nose to tail exam, keeping dogs healthy with proper nutrition, learn about ticks, caring for lacerations and will also learn some basic surgical skills and more! They also get to take home their own premium stuffed dog toy at the end of the program!

Spring Outdoor Soccer – Birth Years 2014-2020

Grassroots Co-Ed Program 

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Daniel Balcorta, a former professional soccer player, with international experience, to run our LBCA Outdoor Spring Soccer! Daniel is currently the president of IFA7 and the Canada Soccer Federation, and loves teaching the game of soccer to kids of all ages. 


Our program utilizes “FUNdamentals” curriculum and is designed to run as an academy style program with a focus on learning the game through age-appropriate activities and games. Our emphasis is on player/coach development through enjoyment, mental, emotional growth, and social atmosphere. 

Recreational teams will be set up, trained, and coached by dedicated, coaches.

Please enroll your child according to their year of birth.  

Birth Year 2020 (U4) training is held once per week, for 40 minutes per session on Tuesday or Wednesday nights. ($100 Member/$120 Mon-Member)

Birth Year 2019(U5) training is held two times per week, for 55 minutes per session on Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs nights. Mondays and Tuesdays will be practice nights and games on Wednesday and Thursday nights. ($145 Member/$165 Mon-Member)

Birth Year 2018 (U6) training is held two times per week, for 55 minutes per session on Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs nights. Mondays and Tuesdays will be practice nights and games on Wednesday and Thursday nights. ($145 Member/$165 Non-Member)

Birth Year 2016/2017(U8) training is held two times per week, for 60 minutes per session on Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs nights .Mondays and Tuesdays will be practice nights and games on Wednesday and Thursday nights. ($180 Member/$200 Non-Member)

Birth Year 2014/2015 (U10) training is held two times per week, for 60 minutes per session on Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs nights .Mondays and Tuesdays will be practice nights and games on Wednesday and Thursday nights.  ($200 Member/$220 Non-Member)

The Grassroots program will run for 8 weeks, from April 29th – June 20th and all sessions will be held on the fields located at the Lake Bonavista Elementary School, 1015 120 Ave SE.

Junior Engineers Full Day & Half Day – 5-7yrs

Junior STEAM Camp, Arts and Sports – Morning

Explore the culture traditions and art history of North America, and Peru through designing and creating Aztec Masks, North American Tipis, and Peruvian blankets.

Dive into the world of sports as campers compete for the gold as they take on exciting engineering challenges related to archery, minigolf, football and basketball.

Let the games begin!

Junior Robotics and Programming with Edison & Ozobots – Afternoon

Discover the wild world of robot! Kids will be introduced to both Ozobots and Edison robotics. They will work as young scientists, engineers, and mathematicians to create color patterns and code their Ozozbot to solve puzzles, traverse mazes, dance and even go bowl!

Campers are then introduced to coding and programming using Edison. Kids can make use of Edison’s Lego-compatible pegs and a handful of sensors to solve a variety of problems. Edison can respond to barcodes to perform various predefined tasks or be programmed using a computer using one of a few different languages. We focus on using EdScratch, a block-based programming language.

Camp runs from Aug 12th – 16th, for 5 sessions, from 9am-4pm, for kids ages 5-7yrs. Please ensure each child brings a water bottle, snacks and a lunch.

All course materials will be provided.

Apprentice Engineering Full Day & Half Day – 8-13yrs

Game Design with MakeCode Arcade – Morning

Why just play video games when you can make them!

Join us as we go through the journey of a video game designer and learn how to design, create, and code your very own video game using MakeCode Arcade.

Kids will learn how to code video games and bring them to life on their handheld gaming device, a Kittenbot Meowbit! Campers will learn the power of coding with MakeCode to create their retro video games and see their games come to life in the physical world on the Meowbit!

Mechatronics and Sphero Robotics – Afternoon

This summer our campers will build, create, and invent as they explore the basics of mechatronics engineering. They will work to design gadgets, tools, and machines from self-driving vehicles and art machines to a chain reaction contraption.

Our young campers then use the fundamentals of coding and will be introduced to variables, conditions, functions, and more as they create a time bomb, navigate a maze, and code the Sphero to escape a room as quickly as possible. The only limit is your imagination. We thrive to inspire, curiosity, creativity and invention!

Camp runs from July 22nd – 26th, for 5 sessions, from 9am-4pm, for kids ages 8-13yrs. Please ensure each child brings a water bottle, snacks and a lunch.

All course materials will be provided.

Summer Soccer Camp – 6-8yrs

We are excited to partner with our Soccer Coordinator, Daniel Balcorta, from Canada Soccer Federation and IFA7, to bring you soccer summer camps!

This soccer program will allow young boys and girls who are looking to improve their skills regardless of their level in a dynamic and diverse week long camp. From players starting the sport to high performance players, the CSF/IFA7 Development Summer Camps will bring out the best in each player and help cement their positions requirements as well as understanding all the roles on the pitch. We put a spotlight on the value of all for one which pushes players to grow as players, to improve as a team and create a strong teamwork ethic.

It will run from July 2nd-5th from 9:00am – 12:00pm here at the LBCA. Some of the session will take place in the gym and there will also be time spent each day on the field outside. This program is suitable for all skill levels aged 6-8yrs and each participant will receive a t-shirt to keep. Please ensure you bring running shoes and a water bottle.

2024 REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION POLICY: Withdrawal from a program is permitted up to 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the program with a full refund. There is a $25 Admin Fee for all withdrawals. If the program is cancelled by LBCA, a refund will be issued.
