Art Class For Kids

Art is about having fun! It’s not about being perfect, it’s about expressing yourself and being creative. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or you can only draw a stick figure, art is for everyone. Come and learn different techniques and work on projects that include beavers, polar bears and even Baby Yoda!
All equipment will be supplied and projects will be taken home. Please wear old clothes as thigs can get messy at times with art!

Tyke Basketball: Ages 6 – 8 years

A grassroots basketball program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play.
No class Oct 11th.

Junior Basketball League: Ages 9 – 11 Years

Mondays 6:30-7:30pm, Fridays 5:00-7:00pm |
$225 LBCA Members | $245 Non-Members
A grassroots basketball league program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play. The Junior program will have 36 kids per age group which will allow for 4 teams in each group. They will build upon their fundamentals of basketball and learn offensive and defensive strategies and skills that will be used during the league games.
- Monday night practice sessions from 6:30-7:30pm in the Main Gym at Nickel School from Sept 16th – Dec 16th No sessions Sept 30th, Oct 14th, Nov 11th or Dec 2nd
- Friday Game nights from 5-7pm at the LBCA gym from Sept 20th – Dec 20th. Junior teams will either play from 5:00-6:00pm, or 6:00-7:00pm a schedule will be sent out once teams are formed – please note that the first Friday Sept 20th will be an additional practice and games will begin the following Friday Sept 27th , No class Oct 11th
Please bring indoor shoes and a water bottle.
Senior Basketball League: Ages 12 – 14 Years

Mondays 7:30-8:30pm, Fridays 6:00-8:00pm |

In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play .The Senior program will now have 32 kids per age group which will allow for 4 teams in each group. They will build upon their fundamentals of basketball and learn offensive and defensive strategies and skills that will be used during the league games.
- Monday night practice sessions from 7:30-8:30pm in the Main Gym at Nickel School from Sept 16th – Dec 16th No sessions Sept 30th, Oct 14th, Nov 11th or Dec 2nd
- Friday Game nights from 6-8:00pm at the LBCA gym from Sept 20th – Dec 20th. Circus School: 6-9 years

This Fall we are brining the circus to you!
We have partnered with The Green Fools, who love working with youth, to bring you something new. Circus school is accessible to all types of learners and promotes physical literacy, play, skills development, inclusion, and acceptance. You will learn stilt walking, juggling, unicycling, barrel walking and more!

Drawing with Young Rembrandts

Engineering For Kids Junior Makey Makey : Ages 5 – 7 years

For the little tykes, we are offering an introductory hands-on beginner course to introduce Makey Makey and how everyday objects can be used to create fun and engaging projects! This course will provide a foundation for kids to learn how science and computer technology can be used to make everyday objects come to life through the use of circuits and beginner computer programming. Students registered will build a basic knowledge of circuits and coding to create interactive artwork, computer games, music, and more!

Engineering For Kids Robo Battles with VEX IQ : Ages 8 – 12 years

It’s time for robot basic training! Soldier bots need to be able to follow precise instructions to make it home from battle. In this program, students will build, modify and program a robot using VEX IQ robotics kit. They will learn to use motors and sensors to detect objects and assist in navigation. Then, they will use the EFK Design Process to complete a variety of basic training boot camp challenges with their soldier bots.

Indoor Soccer U6 : Ages 4 – 5 years

Join us for our Indoor Tennis program. Using Tennis Canada certified coaches, the program utilizes age appropriate sized racquets, balls and courts. Stroke mechanics are introduced in a fun, engaging game environment.

Music Class for Babies

We have partnered with Musical Discoveries to bring you a parent and baby class!
This class is designed for the littlest ones! It is a 30 minute class that will introduce your baby to music in its gentlest form, as well as sensory and visual experience. All activities will be done in an age appropriate manor and will promote your child’s learning and intelligence. This is a great opportunity to come and bond with your little one and meet other parents while helping encourage their little minds to further develop. Suitable for babies 6-12 months who are not walking yet.
All equipment is supplied.

Music Class Unparented

We have partnered with Musical Discoveries to bring you an unparented tot music class!
A fun and interactive introduction to some of the key basics of music learning, presented in an age appropriate manor. We will delve deep into rhythm, pitch, tonal patterns, musical expression and will touch on some very basic note learning. Classes will be fun filled and your child will have the beginning of a foundation on formal music learning. This will help prepare them for future music lessons in the instrument of their choice. The kids will perform a mini concert for the last session that parents and families can attend!
All equipment is supplied. Kids must be fully potty trained.
