Art Class

Art is about having fun! It’s not about being perfect, it’s about expressing yourself and being creative. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or you can only draw a stick figure, art is for everyone. Come and learn different techniques and work on a variety of projects.
All equipment will be supplied and projects will be taken home. Please wear old clothes as thigs can get messy at times with art!

Tyke Basketball: Ages 6 – 8 years

Fridays, 4:15 – 5:00pm | 13 Sessions

A grassroots basketball program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play.
No class Oct 9th
Please bring indoor shoes and a water bottle.
Junior Basketball League: Ages 9 – 11 Years
September 14 – December 18, 2026
Mondays 6:30-7:30pm, Fridays 5:00-6:30pm

A grassroots basketball league program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play. The Junior program will have 36 kids per age group which will allow for 4 teams in each group. They will build upon their fundamentals of basketball and learn offensive and defensive strategies and skills that will be used during the league games.
- Monday night practice sessions from 6:30-7:30pm in the Main Gym at Nickel School from Sept 14th – Dec 14th No session Oct 12th and Oct 19th
- Friday Game nights from 5-6:30pm at the LBCA gym from Sept 18 – Dec 18th. Junior teams will have a half hour session with their coaches each Friday and then games will run 5:30-6:30pm, a game schedule will be sent out once teams are formed – please note that the first Friday Sept 18th will be an additional practice and games will begin the following week No session Oct 9th

Senior Basketball League: Ages 12 – 15 Years

Mondays 7:30-8:30pm, Fridays 6:30-8:00pm

Boys and girls play together, exposing players to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play. They will build upon their fundamentals of basketball and learn offensive and defensive strategies and skills that will be used during the league games.

Beyond the Group Chat: Work Ready Communication Skills

Whether they’re preparing for their first job, starting a career, or looking to build confidence in the workplace, strong communication skills are one of the greatest predictors of success.
This engaging three part workshop series is designed for youth and young adults (ages 16-21) who are entering the workforce or are in the initial stages of employment. Through interactive activities, real world scenarios, and hands on learning, participants will develop the communication and self-leadership skills employers value most.
Participants will learn how to communicate professionally and confidently, build meaningful professional connections, create a polished LinkedIn profile, and write clear, effective workplace emails and messages.
The series includes:
- Workshop 1: Types of Communication & Best Practices
- Workshop 2: Networking and Building a LinkedIn Profile
- Workshop 3: Written Communication & Best Practices
By the end of the series, participants will have stronger interpersonal and intergenerational communication skills, increased confidence, a professional online presence, practical networking experience, and the workplace communication tools needed to make a positive first impression and thrive in today’s workforce.
Drawing with Young Rembrandts

Back-to-school season is bursting with creativity at Young Rembrandts! Students will explore texture, color, perspective, and character design through a fun variety of drawings. From a realistic Pizza and sweet Cake Pops that teach proportion, shading, and detail, to a powerful Monster Truck and colorful Elephant that build perspective and form, each lesson strengthens essential drawing skills.
Creative characters take center stage with an adorable Baby Sloth, festive Holiday Puppy, and charming Bunny, while an art history portrait of Hiawatha introduces cultural appreciation and portrait composition.

Junior Robotics with Edison
Introduce your child to the exciting world of robotics with Edison – the friendly, LEGO compatible robot built for young inventors.
In this hands-on class, kids will explore how Edison senses, moves, and responds to commands. Using EdScratch, a beginner friendly, block-based coding language, they will learn foundational programming concepts while solving fun challenges-like following lines, responding to sound, and completing obstacle courses.
Designed for curious minds, Junior Edison Robotics sparks creativity, builds confidence, and lays the groundwork for a lifelong journey in STEM!

Robo Battles with VEX IQ: Ready for Action!
Prepare for an exciting program of robot basic training! In this high energy class, kids will design, build, and program their very own robots using the VEX IQ robotics kit. They will learn how to use motors and sensors for navigation.
What’s included:
- Build and customize your soldier bot.
- Complete thrilling boot camp challenges like obstacle courses and precision missions.
- Use the EFK Engineering Design Process to think like an engineer and solve real world challenges.
This program ignites creativity, sharpens problem-solving skills, and delivers hands-on fun for future inventors and roboticists!

Join us for our Indoor Tennis program. Using Tennis Canada certified coaches, the program utilizes age appropriate sized racquets, balls and courts. Stroke mechanics are introduced in a fun, engaging game environment.
All registrants will need to bring indoor shoes and a water bottle. Please bring your tennis racquet if you have one, if you don’t, one will be provided for you.
