Art Class

Art is about having fun! It’s not about being perfect, it’s about expressing yourself and being creative. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or you can only draw a stick figure, art is for everyone. Come and learn different techniques and work on a variety of projects.
All equipment will be supplied and projects will be taken home. Please wear old clothes as thigs can get messy at times with art!

Tyke Basketball: Ages 6 – 8 years

A grassroots basketball program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play.

Junior Basketball League: Ages 9 – 11 Years

Mondays 6:30-7:30pm, Fridays 5:00-6:30pm |

A grassroots basketball league program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play. The Junior program will have 36 kids per age group which will allow for 4 teams in each group. They will build upon their fundamentals of basketball and learn offensive and defensive strategies and skills that will be used during the league games.
- Monday night practice sessions from 6:30-7:30pm in the Main Gym at Nickel School from Jan 12th – Mar 16th No session Feb 16th
- Friday Game nights from 5-6:30pm at the LBCA gym from Jan 9th – Mar 20th. Junior teams will have a half hour session with their coaches each Friday and then games will run 5:30-6:30pm, a game schedule will be sent out once teams are formed – please note that the first Friday Jan 9th will be an additional practice and games will begin the following week No session Feb 13th

Senior Basketball League: Ages 12 – 15 Years

Boys and girls play together, exposing players to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play. They will build upon their fundamentals of basketball and learn offensive and defensive strategies and skills that will be used during the league games.

Drawing with Young Rembrandts

Young Rembrandts students will flex their artistic muscles with an exciting lineup of drawing lessons. We’ll warm up with whimsical winter birdhouses and a festive birthday cake – perfect projects to spark imagination. Budding artists will take on dynamic challenges like a bold llama, adorable penguins full of personality, and a Young Rembrandts take on Grant Wood’s American Gothic. We’ll wrap things up with a blend of elegance and graphic design in imaginative lessons like trolls at home and a striking line art owl.

Engineering For Kids Junior : Ages 5 – 7 years

Junior LEGO Robotics
Kids will build, program, play, and explore using LEGO robotics! Working as young scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers, students will build robots that introduce key concepts in coding, automation, and robotics through hands-on challenges. Throughout the program, our young innovators will create machines like robotic arms, volcano early-warning systems, Mars rovers, and more-each designed to spark curiosity and imagination.
This highly engaging program strengthens early STEM foundations, spatial reasoning, and creative confidence, all while fostering a love of science, exploration, and discovery.

Humanoid Robotics
Step into the future of robotics! In this hands-on program, students will design, build, and program their very own humanoid robot. From responding to voice commands and recognizing faces to dancing along to a favorite song-your robot becomes a new interactive friend!
Students learn real-world coding, electronics, and engineering skills while exploring hoe robots move, think, and communicate. Get ready to build, experiment, and bring your robot to life!

Indoor Soccer – U6

A grassroots soccer program that will focus on the fundamentals of soccer through drills and fun games, as well as scrimmage time.
All soccer will be in the gymnasium from 4:00-4:45pm at the Lake Bonavista Recreation Centre, Jan 12 – Mar 16.

Join us for our Indoor Tennis program. Using Tennis Canada certified coaches, the program utilizes age appropriate sized racquets, balls and courts. Stroke mechanics are introduced in a fun, engaging game environment.
Classes will be held in the Gym on Sundays from Jan 11th – Mar 8th from 9-10am for 8 sessions for ages 5-7yrs. Please bring your tennis racquet if you have one, if you don’t, one will be provided for you.

Immerse in Seas Turtle Magic: Learn, Protect, Release!
Dive into the world of marine biology on this extraordinary expedition! Our program gives our participants a dynamic hands-on introduction to sea turtles. Each participant will become the caretaker of a plush sea turtle, conduct health checks, explore the diversity of sea turtle species, and learn about having team efforts to rescue and release a plush Leatherback sea turtle into the wild. The journey to become a marine biologist concludes with their own graduation ceremony, where participants are equipped to be advocates for the protection of the sea turtles.

Our program introduces music to little ones in a fun and exciting manor. We sing, explore many different instruments, do rhythmic marching, drumming and more! It is a wonderful time to bond with your little one while teaching them the fundamentals. All equipment is supplied.
