Lake Bonavista Adopt-A-Rink

The Lake Bonavista Adopt-A-Rink is located at 1715 Lake Bonavista Drive, beside the LBCA Field House/Garden, at the back of the Andrew Sibbald School field.

Adopt-A-Rink is a City of Calgary program that provides materials to build a pleasure rink in local communities. The rink is independent of the LBCA and operated by trained volunteers. The LBCA supports the rink with water supply, outdoor seating and a storage area. Volunteers build and maintain the rink, help with shoveling to clear snow and carry out routine floods.

Skaters are encouraged to use onsite shovels to clear snow off the ice if needed!

Adopt-A-Rink BYLAWS include:

  • pleasure skating only, hockey nets are not permitted.
  • rink hours are 6:00am-11:00pm
  • volunteers must register and go through Adopt-A Rink registration and training

Note:

  • There are no washrooms or indoor spaces available at this Adopt-A-Rink location.
