Art Class

Art is about having fun! It’s not about being perfect, it’s about expressing yourself and being creative. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or you can only draw a stick figure, art is for everyone. Come and learn different techniques and work on a variety of projects.
All equipment will be supplied and projects will be taken home. Please wear old clothes as thigs can get messy at times with art!

Babysitting Course
June 15, 2025
Sunday, 8:30am – 4:00 pm | Ages 12-16 years

The Red Cross Babysitters course covers the responsibilities of a babysitter, safety tips for children of all ages, feeding and diapering babies, basic childcare skills, and what to do in case of an emergency.
Basic first aid is covered, including choking, cuts, and burns.
Each student will receive a Red Cross babysitter’s manual, babysitter’s first aid kit, and a Red Cross Babysitter’s completion card.
Tyke Basketball: Ages 6 – 8 years

A grassroots basketball program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play.
No class May 16th.
Please bring indoor shoes and a water bottle.
Junior Basketball League: Ages 9 – 11 Years

Mondays 6:30-7:30pm, Fridays 5:00-6:30pm |

A grassroots basketball league program for new and developing players. In this co-ed program kids play together, exposing them to the game of basketball in a safe and fun setting with drills, activities and game play. The Junior program will have 36 kids per age group which will allow for 4 teams in each group. They will build upon their fundamentals of basketball and learn offensive and defensive strategies and skills that will be used during the league games.
- Monday night practice sessions from 6:30-7:30pm in the Main Gym at Robert Warren from Apr 7th – June 9th No session April 21st and May 19th
- Friday Game nights from 5-6:30pm at the LBCA gym from Apr 4th – June 13th. Junior teams will have a half hour session with their coaches each Friday and then games will run 5:30-6:30pm, a game schedule will be sent out once teams are formed – please note that the first Friday April 4th will be an additional practice and games will begin the following the following weeks , No session May 16th

Senior Basketball League: Ages 12 – 15 Years

They will build upon their fundamentals of basketball and learn offensive and defensive strategies and skills that will be used during the league games.

Drawing with Young Rembrandts

If your artist is captivated by the magic of the movies, they’ll love bringing our movie theater still life to life. Ready for an adventure? Drawing Aladdin’s lamp will be a wish come true. We’re also riding the waves with our super cool surfer & wave illustration – it’s totally rad! For those with a love for fantasy, our baby dragons lesson will fire up their imagination and teach them to master color and composition. To top it all off, we’ll explore the world of art legends with a stunning portrait of Frida Kahlo to spark their creativity.

Spring Outdoor Soccer – Birth Years 2015-2021

Grassroots Co-Ed Program
We have partnered with Daniel Balcorta, a former professional soccer player, with international experience, to run our LBCA Outdoor Spring Soccer! Daniel is currently the president of IFA7 and the Canada Soccer Federation, and loves teaching the game of soccer to kids of all ages.
Our program utilizes “FUNdamentals” curriculum and is designed to run as an academy style program with a focus on learning the game through age-appropriate activities and games. Our emphasis is on player/coach development through enjoyment, mental, emotional growth, and social atmosphere.
Recreational teams will be set up, trained, and coached by dedicated, coaches.
Please enroll your child according to their year of birth.
Birth Year 2021 (U4) training is held once per week, for 40 minutes per session on Tuesday or Wednesday nights. ($105 Member/$125 Mon-Member)
Birth Year 2020(U5) training is held two times per week, for 55 minutes per session on Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs nights. Mondays and Tuesdays will be practice nights and games on Wednesday and Thursday nights. ($155 Member/$175 Mon-Member)
Birth Year 2019 (U6) training is held two times per week, for 55 minutes per session on Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs nights. Mondays and Tuesdays will be practice nights and games on Wednesday and Thursday nights. ($155 Member/$175 Non-Member)
Birth Year 2017/2018(U8) training is held two times per week, for 60 minutes per session on Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs nights .Mondays and Tuesdays will be practice nights and games on Wednesday and Thursday nights. ($190 Member/$210 Non-Member)
Birth Year 2015/2016 (U10) training is held two times per week, for 60 minutes per session on Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs nights .Mondays and Tuesdays will be practice nights and games on Wednesday and Thursday nights. ($220 Member/$240 Non-Member)
The Grassroots program will run for 8 weeks, from May 5th – June 26th and all sessions will be held on the fields located at the Lake Bonavista Elementary School, 1015 120 Ave SE.

Soccer Summer Camp: Ages 6-12yrs

We are excited to partner with our Soccer Coordinator, Daniel Balcorta, from Canada Soccer Federation and IFA7, to bring you soccer summer camps!
This soccer program will allow young boys and girls who are looking to improve their skills regardless of their level in a dynamic and diverse week long camp. From players starting the sport to high performance players, the CSF/IFA7 Development Summer Camps will bring out the best in each player and help cement their positions requirements as well as understanding all the roles on the pitch. We put a spotlight on the value of all for one which pushes players to grow as players, to improve as a team and create a strong teamwork ethic.
Some of the session will take place in the gym and there will also be time spent each day on the field outside. This program is suitable for all skill levels aged 6-12yrs and each participant will receive a t-shirt to keep. Please ensure you bring running shoes a peanut free snack and a water bottle.

Young Rembrandts: Zoo Animals 5-7yrs

This workshop gives our students the chance to draw all the different animals and things we see at the zoo! Llamas, lions, monkeys and more will fill our drawings. We will complete our last day with one large scene including all the animals we drew that week in a clever and cute imaginary zoo. Enroll today to get your spot!

Young Rembrandts: Pastel Ocean Life 6-12yrs
July 21 – July 25, 2025

Five, fun-filled days await our students as we explore ocean life and as they learn to draw and color with pastels. We will create detailed, pastel compositions each day, focusing on a different ocean-themed subject. We will draw eye-catching sea stars along the shoreline and a pair of vibrant clown fish. We will illustrate a sea turtle with bold patterns, a blue crab, and a wondrous scene of jellyfish. Our instruction will bring remarkable results, and you will want to head to the frame shop with your child’s finished pastel pieces. These pastel drawings will reward students with a great sense of pride and accomplishment. Enroll today!
