Enhancing the Lives of Calgarians for more than 50 years.
Since 1970, the Lake Bonavista Community Association (LBCA) has been a staple in south Calgary, enhancing Calgarians’ lives through various programs, events, and activities.
Over the years, the 65,000-square-foot recreation complex has welcomed guests from all walks of life for drop-in activities, seasonal programs, hockey games, figure skating, fitness classes, day camps, and more.
The LBCA is a non-profit registered under the Societies Act of Alberta and a charity registered with Canada Revenue Agency. It is managed and operated by a team of passionate professionals and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected annually by its membership.
The LBCA’s Mission, Vision and Values
Mission
The Lake Bonavista Community Association is a volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of the community by providing and facilitating programs and services that meet the needs of our residents and serve as a gathering point for them to share ideas, raise concerns, and address issues.
Vision
Lake Bonavista is an inviting and welcoming community where residents are passionate and engaged in creating opportunities to gather, share and create a sense of belonging.
Values
To support our mission and vision and to achieve our mandate, we are guided by the following values:
Community—We believe in a community that is engaged, involved, and participates, creating an unneighborly sense of being connected and growing with the community for the greater good.
Inclusivity—In our community, nobody is left out. We seek accessibility for all and welcome our neighbours who align with our values, vision, and mission.
Respect—Our environment is built on mutual respect among our community members, facility users, staff, and everyone who shares the space.
Fun – Fun is at the heart of everything we do; we participate in things we love to do for better health and quality of life.
