DESCRIPTION:It’s time for spring cleaning!  \n\n\n\nSave a trip to the landfill and dispose of unwanted items that don’t fit in your waste and recycling bins at the LBCA’s annual Community Clean Up.  \n\n\n\nWe will have electronics recycling\, scrap metal recycling and the Women In Need Society  will be on-site to take donations. \n\n\n\nThis service is free of charge to all Calgarians. \n\n\n\nWhat items are accepted at the Community Cleanups?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccepted items include (but are not limited to) furniture (desks\, chairs\, sofas\, old mattresses\, etc.)\, toilets\, and recalled or broken recreational products\n\n\n\nElectronics – see accepted items list\n\n\n\nWomen In Need Accepted & Needed items\n\n\n\n\nWhat are some of the restricted items that the Cleanups do not take?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBarbecues\, lawnmowers\, household chemicals and large appliances. \n\n\n\nCar batteries\n\n\n\nGlass (window panes\, glass table tops\, etc.)\n\n\n\nHousehold appliances with freon (refrigerator\, freezer\, microwaves)\n\n\n\nLiquids (cooking oil)\n\n\n\nHousehold hazardous waste (propane tanks\, paint)\n\n\n\nAutomobile/cleaning/healthcare/gardening chemicals\n\n\n\nHousehold hazardous waste materials can be brought directly to a household hazardous waste drop-off location.\n\n\n\nScrap Metals – see prohibited items list\n\n\n\nElectronics – see prohibited items list \n\n\n\n\nNot sure what to do with an item?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisit calgary.ca/whatgoeswhere to find the right recycling and disposal options for your unwanted items. \n\n\n\nFor more tips on the use of green bins or larger items that cannot fit into your green bin please refer to: Using your green cart (calgary.ca). \n\n\n\nFor information on Community Cleanups\, contact Calgary 311 or 403-268-CITY (2489) by phone\, access 311 services online\, or connect via the 311 Calgary mobile app.
