Program Cancellations

Hello from the LBCA!
It has now been 6 weeks since our city took the necessary steps to flatten the curve and keep our communities healthy and safe. I hope that you and your loved ones are well and adjusting to our new normal
Programs & Events
When the LBCA facilities closed in March all programs and events were cancelled including Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, the Lego Contest and Babysitting Course, Community Clean Up and Stampede Breakfast. A sincere thank you to the many volunteers that gave time and energy to plan and prepare these activities for our community, you are valued and appreciated. I apologize if you did not receive previous communication regarding cancellations and registration fees; see details below.
Option 1: Credit
We apply the amount of the registration to your account which can be used for future LBCA program registrations, drop-ins, or events.
Option 2: Refund
We provide you a full refund. Due to the volume of requests please allow up to 4 weeks processing time.
Option 3: Donation
You can donate a portion or all of your registration fee to the LBCA. As a charity, the LBCA relies on programs, rentals, and membership revenue to operate our facility and provide experiences for children, youth, and adults. By giving to the LBCA you will help provide essential revenue during this uncertain time while also supporting our efforts towards the successful re-opening in the future. Would you consider donating to the LBCA?
Submit your request to Jaimie Roote, Program & Events Coordinator Allow up to 4 weeks for requests to be completed.
*PLEASE NOTE: refunds and credits related to 2020 cancelled programs and events are available until June 30th, 2020. If we have not received communication from you by this date your fees will be considered a donation to the LBCA.
Our facilities are very quiet without all of you but there is still a lot happening! During the closure, the LBCA staff are taking the opportunity to maximize approved grant funding and complete facility repairs that will ensure a successful reopening when the time comes. Ice plant maintenance, rink board repairs and basketball hoop improvements are just a few of the projects being tackled. We continue to work with our partners, the Knights Hockey Club, Lake Bonavista Figure Skating Club and the Scouts to plan for the future. Office staff are using this time to complete administrative projects that strengthen our operational excellence and effectiveness. We are also working towards the possibility of hosting the Lego Contest and celebrating our 50th anniversary later this year.

I am happy to share that the Good Food Box has reopened as an essential service and invited the LBCA to continue to operate as a community Good Food Box depot. We will facilitate a no contact pick up and are taking orders for May and June. The next order is due May 4th.  Good Food Box info here!
The LBCA social media channels continue to promote partner initiatives and community news. Follow us for up to date information, encouragement, and resources.

We truly miss our LBCA community. Now, more than ever, we recognize the importance of this community and supporting one another. Thank you for your continued support, we wish you well. Take good care.
